'London Rhymes' works with families with young children, writing original songs for families all around London!
Becoming a new parent is a life changing, world shifting, earthquake-causing event – whoever you are, the impact can be monumental. The massive highs and sudden lows, crushing sleep deprivation combines with a love like you’ve never known.
Singing is being increasingly recognised as an important way to build healthy attachments with new babies, especially for those where attachment might be compromised by other circumstances. Babies are highly sophisticated singers and listeners:
They can hear their mother’s voices from around 26 weeks in utero and recognise it above other voices once born!
As new parents, we enter into a sort of musical improvisation with our children, subconsciously mimicking facial expressions and sounds – responding to their communication needs instinctively!
Singing regularly with your baby is a proven way to speed recovery from post-natal depression.
London Rhymes is rooted in this knowledge, and seeks to offer a quality alternative for parents looking for beautiful, fun and original music to listen to and sing with their children.

‘Rhymes LIVE’ is an energetic, eclectic, original musical show for families with young children that will get everyone dancing and singing! We’ve been reimagining and reinventing the ‘rhyme’ for the modern-day family since 2015, with our original songs co-written with parents and young children in projects delivered across London with arts charity Creative Futures.
Rosie is an established singer, songwriter and music leader, and is the founder and leader of ’London Rhymes’. She loves working with parents and their small people, creating beautiful new songs and sounds. Rosie also launched ’Mama Sings’ in 2017, under which she writes music, blogs and hosts events. Rosie is also a Mum to a lively 3 year old boy called Otis. She loves pickled onions. In fact all things pickled!
